Benedict Cumberbatch and his girlfriend Anna Jones have split up, according to The Sun. However half-sister of Benedict Cumberbatch is adamant that he often struggles to find a girlfriend because of his intellectual nature.

The 35-year-old ‘Sherlock Holmes’ actor split from his girlfriend of ten years, Olivia Poulet, only last year before this short romance. Benedict’s half-sister Tracey Peacock revealed to The Sun that Cumberbatch had parted ways with Jones because of his brains. She said: ‘You would have to be a pretty smart cookie to keep up with him. I think that is possibly why he has trouble with girlfriends. He is such a lot like Sherlock - he is quick-thinking like him, but not harsh. He’s incredibly well read. In comparison to some he is quite an intellectual.’ However Peacock was quick to suggest that Benedict is keen to find a long-term companion: ‘One of his regrets is that he hasn’t found someone to settle down with. I think they would have to be someone not in the acting profession. Someone who was happy to hold the fort while he went off and pursued his career.’
