So I was at Wal-Mart the other day for some really cheap hiking boots after my converses got destroyed (even more) by backpacking. Yeah, we went without backpacks, but we did ford rivers and climb sheer cliffs. Cliffs of soft soil that falls apart when you try to grab it so you can’t climb up the damn thing.
